How do I place an ante-post bet? What’s an ante-post bet? An ante-post bet is placed on a selection in an event with a start date more than 72 hours away. Bets of this type are usually placed on an outright market. To place an ante-post bet on horse racing, navigate to the horse racing page and select the ‘Futures’ tab. All the available races will then be listed. Next, simply select the race you want, add the runner to the bet slip and place either a win or an each-way bet.
