A match bet is a market where you can bet on a particular selection to finish in a higher position than another specified selection. There are often a number of different match bets available for different events.

Horse racing match bet examples

Race result:

1. Epona
2. Pendleton
3. Sarvi
4. Bay Watch

If you had a match bet on Sarvi to beat Bay Watch, it would be a winner because Sarvi finished third and Bay Watch finished fourth.

Alternatively, if you had a match bet on Sarvi to beat Epona, your bet would be settled as a loser because Epona finished in a higher position than Sarvi.
