After placing a bet, there may be instances when your selection becomes a non-runner and drops out of the race.

If you placed an ante-post bet and the selection was a non-runner, it would be settled as a loser. But if it was not an ante-post bet, or you placed an ante-post bet when the market was 'non-runner no bet' (NRNB)*, it would be void and your stake would be refunded in full.

For example, if you backed a horse running later the same day and it was a non-runner, your bet would be made void and your stake would be refunded. If the selection was part of an accumulator bet it would be settled on the remaining selections.

But if you placed an ante-post bet weeks/months in advance and the market was not declared as an NRNB race and the selection didn’t run, it would be settled as a losing bet. If the selection was part of an accumulator bet, the acca would be settled as lost.

*NRNB means that if your selection does not run in the race on which you’ve placed your bet, your stake will be refunded.

Please note this can also apply across several sports, including football.

For example, if you selected Harry Kane to score first in a match and he does not play in the game at all, your stake would be refunded.
